PAMELA DEAN GRIFFIN

On the morning of Aug. 29, 2024, Pamela Dean Griffin passed away peacefully surrounded by family at UAB Palliative and Comfort Care in Birmingham. Pam was 69 years old.

Pam was born to Faye and Billy Ray Shelton on Jan. 23, 1955. She had four siblings: Clea, Wesley, Mark, and Brad Shelton. She resided in Oneonta, most of her life where she raised her three children the very best she could as a single mother, sometimes working two jobs.

Pam was a decisive, determined, and resilient woman. She was a very hard worker, always taking on new projects. She loved to garden, thrift, bake, craft, shop, play cards, and spend time with family.

She was preceded in death by parents Faye and Billy Ray Shelton, husband Virgil Griffin, several aunts and uncles who she loved, daughter Holly Kritner, and brother Mark Shelton.

Pam is survived by daughter Heather Couey and sons Heath (Deshawn) Kritner and Michael (Heather) Kritner. She will continue to be loved and cherished by her grandchildren Holli (Kim), Krysten (Seth), Ethan, Alyssa, Aleigha, Owen (Katie), Kaylee, Cayden, Payton and great-grandchildren Zander, Jayce, Caroline, Sophie, Owen, Kamar, and a host of nieces and nephews.
