JOHN NEIL ASHWORTH

JOHN NEIL ASHWORTH, 58 of Horton, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024, at Shepherd’s Cove Inpatient Hospice Facility.

John was born Sept. 12, 1965, in Kennesaw, Ga., to Emmitt Oneal Ashworth and Freida Gayle Hill Ashworth. He was a graduate of Snead State Community College and served in the US Army in the early 80s. He was employed by Sanmina SCI as an Engineering Design Technician and Calibration Coordinator.

He is survived by his mother Gayle Ashworth; brother David (Kathy) Ashworth; aunt Teresa Moore; uncle Tim (Rose) Smith; great aunt Jean Speake; and a host of cousins, other family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Oneal Ashworth; grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ellie Ashworth; and grandmother and step grandfather Ceawilla and Bennie Smith.

Funeral Service was 11 a.m. Saturday Aug. 31, 2024, at Blountsville Funeral Home with Joel Sims officiating. Burial was in Ashworth Family Cemetery. Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, at Blountsville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Donnie Johnson, Tim Smith, Jeremy Smith, Kris Holcombe, Bob Langley and Jeff Bowling. Blountsville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
