SARAH MARTIN ERICKSON

SARAH MARTIN ERICKSON, 93 of Blounts-ville passed away Friday, June 7, 2024, at her residence. She was born January 13, 1931, in Blountsville the daughter of Columbus P. Martin and Annie Bowerman Martin. She was a graduate of J.B. Pennington High School, Class of 1949 and of Montevallo University. She served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, while stationed in Germany she met and fell in love with the love of her life, Eugene Everett Erickson. Together they raised their family in his hometown of Massachusetts. They were married for 63 years at the time of his passing July 5, 2020. After she retired as a Registered Dietician from Norwood Hospital they returned to her homestead in Blountsville, Alabama.

She is survived by her daughter: Jane (Mark) Wright; son: Alan Erickson; grandchildren: Alexa Wright, Marcus Wright, Daniel (Kate) Erickson and Michael Erickson; great granddaughter: Grace Erickson; sisters-in-law: Faith (Ron) Soderberg and Donna (Don) Bentley; brother-in-law: Jim Volk; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her hus-band: Eugene Erickson; children: Baby Erickson and Steven Erickson; grandson; Brian Erickson; daughter in love: Maggi Erickson; two sisters and one brother.

Graveside Memorial Service were from 11 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2024, at the Antioch Cemetery, Blountsville Funeral Home directing.
