MAREN CAY FIKES

May 24, 2024

MAREN CAY FIKES was born into this world on June 25, 2008, in Alabama, and de- parted from it on May 12, 2024, at the age of 15. Maren was a beacon of light and love in the community of Hayden, Ala- bama, and her presence will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Maren was a devout member of the Palmerdale Methodist Church, where she actively participated in mission trips, Vacation Bible School, and Royal Family Kids camp, embodying the spirit of Christian service and fellowship. Her life was a living example of the scripture, "Let all that you do be done in love" (1 Corin- thians 16:14).

She leaves behind her beloved parents, Mr. and Mrs. James and Melanie Fikes; her grandparents, Jerry and Jani Earley, and David and Allison Brasher; her un- cles, Jeremy Brasher and Cody Earley. She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Myra Bryum "Gran Gran". Maren's extended family and a multitude of friends mourn her passing, yet celebrate the profound impact she made in her short but meaningful life.

As a student at Hayden High School, Maren was en- gaged in her studies and extracurricular activities with a dedication that was admired by her peers and teachers alike. Her enthusiasm for pageants, softball, travel, and her love for animals spoke volumes about her zest for life and her appreciation for the world around her.

The family received friends and loved ones for visitation at Palmerdale Methodist Church on Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. A funeral service followed at the church at 3 p.m., after which Maren

was laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery, where she will be entrusted to the ages until we meet again.

The arrangements for Maren Cay Fikes have been thoughtfully prepared by Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home. In the face of this sorrow, we are remind- ed of the joy that Maren brought to our lives and the lessons of kindness and love she leaves behind.
