Angela Kay Henderson, age 53, of Oneonta, passed
away Aug. 21, 2025.
She was a devoted member of Gardendale First
Baptist Church and a proud graduate of Oneonta
High School, class of 1990, and Auburn University,
class of 1996, where she earned her degree in Wild-
life Science. She was also a graduate of Snead State.
She was known for her kind heart and gentle spirit,
she touched the lives of all who knew her. She had
a deep love for animals and was especially devoted
to her pets Scrappy, Ruger, and her cat Rocky. She
will be remembered for her compassion, generosity,
and the way she cared for others with warmth and
sincerity.
She was preceded in death by her father Jimmy
Henderson; brother Jamie Henderson; grandparents
William Ervin Henderson and Ernie Inez Strickland,
and James Abram Waid, Jr. and Vera Odom Waid.
She is survived by her mother Valra Henderson;
brother Lucas Henderson; sister Jimmie Lou Griffin;
nephews Jarrett Griffin and Jonathan Griffin; and a
host of aunts and uncles.
The family received friends Friday, Sept. 5, 2025,
at Lemley Funeral Home from noon until 1 p.m. A
funeral service was held in the chapel beginning at 1
p.m. with Johnny Allred and Gary Stidham presiding.
Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery.
Asked to serve as pallbearers were Terry Waid,
Danny Chambers, Paul Gilbert, Andrew Moore, Jar-
rett Griffin, Mark Hayes, and Jimmy Duke.
