Hubert Terry Startley

 Hubert Terry Startley, age 81, of Blountsville, passed away May 20, 2025, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Terry was born Aug. 24, 1943, in Birmingham. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He spent more than 40 years working in the farming industry, where he was known for his craftsmanship, integrity, and tireless work ethic. Outside of work, he was a faithful member of Holly Pond Church of Christ and enjoyed fishing, riding his tractor, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley Weems Startley; his children Lane (Cristee) Startley, Amanda (John) Benefield, and Jodi Sanders; and his seven grandchildren Rachel, Taylor, Holli, Hannah, Haylee, Katelyn, and Jacob. He is also survived by his sister and brother Nancy Rochester and Frankie Startley, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Louie and Lela Startley, his beloved son Scott Startley, and his sister Helen Underwood.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2025, at South Cemetery with David Fanning officiating.  Blountsville Funeral Home, directing.   

Pallbearers were Charlie Clingman, Darrell Bagwell, Mike Banks, T. J. Latham, Lark Earwood, and Russ Whisenant.
