Wanda Anneise Hamrick

Wanda Anneise Hamrick, age 80, of Blountsville passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at UAB Medical Center. Wanda was born August 12, 1944, in Blount County, the daughter
of John Hamrick and Cathlee Snead Hamrick.
After growing up in Blount County, she moved to North Carolina where she lived for
around 35 years. During her working years she worked several jobs, at times working as many as two or three at a time. One she especially enjoyed was working at a company in North Carolina that produced fruit cakes. After mov- ing back to Blountsville a few years ago, she enjoyed volunteering at the Hope House and loved visiting with family and friends and talking on the phone. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed watching tv, reading, and, when she was able, working in her yard. She attended church services at Oak Grove.

She is survived by her son Steven (Patricia) Pate; grandchildren Jason Pate, Scott (Kala) Pate, Jonathon Pate, and Derek Pate; great-grandchildren Morgan Pate, Tucker Pate, Jacob Pate, Caleb Pate, Brody Pate, Micah Pate, and Raynie Pate; sisters Marlene Holaway and Melba Awtrey; brother Wayne (Sarah) Hamrick; sister-in-law Virginia Hamrick; and a host of nieces and nephews, other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Cathlee Hamrick; husband Edward L. Pate; husband Salo Gonzalez; son Terry Pate; and brother David Hamrick.
A Memorial Service was held Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Church with James Earl Pate and Claud Bullard offciating.
Blountsville Funeral Home assisted the family with cremation arrangements.
