Mr. J.C. (Julius Carl) Standridge, age 89, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 27, 2025, while surrounded by his loving family. J.C. was first and
foremost a humble Christian servant, while being a loving, devoted, and beloved husband,
Daddy and Nandad.
J.C. was born at home in Hayden on February 23, 1936. He was the oldest of eight children born to Julius Rosco and Dera (Davidson) Standridge. J.C. was valedictorian of his graduating class at Hayden High School in 1954. He worked at O'Neal Steel as their printer for 29 years, then continued his print shop business at home until 2020.
J.C. was known for the friendly encouragement he gave to everyone he met. He cherished his family and for over 70 years took care of the love of his life, Mabel. He was a huge supporter of Locust Fork sports and loved Alabama Football.
J.C. leaves behind a legacy of faith. He loved the Lord, his church, and his choir. He was never ashamed of sharing his faith or the Word of God. He went on several mission trips, including one to Bogota, Columbia.
He leaves behind a hole in the hearts of his family and many friends especially his beloved "Babe", Mabel, his wife for more than 70 years. He is also sur- vived by his sons, Carl, Randy (Pat), Roger, and Tim; daughters Donna (Robert) Statham and Bridget (Joey) Tyree; grandchildren Wendi (Matt) Henson, Matthew (Lora Leigh) Statham, Anthony (Chrisi) Reno, Kristi (Adam) Fields, April (Duane) Boatright, Brandon (Christy) Standridge, T.J. (Ariel) Standridge, Shane (Ashton) Standridge, Riley Tyree, Jackson Tyree; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by brothers Jim, Jack (Pat), John (Toni), Joe (Julie), and sisters Jane (Kerry) Thomas, Joyce (Wayne) Meadows, Judy (Don) Thrasher and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Julius Rosco and Dera Davidson Standridge, and grandsons Jason Standridge and Tyler Standridge.
Visitation was Sunday, March 30, 2025 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. with funeral service at 3:30 p.m. at Locust Fork Baptist Church. Services were conducted by Dr. Roger Willmore. Pallbearers were Matthew Statham, Shane Standridge, Adam Fields, Anthony Reno, Duane Boatright, T.J. Standridge. Honorary pallbearers were Brandon Standridge, Matt Henson, Jackson Tyree, Hudson Fields, Henry Reno, Aidan Wade. Burial followed at Bethlehem Cemetery in Dalls-Selfville.
