Daphine Woods Deerman

Daphine Woods Deerman, 94, of Blountsville passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025, at her residence. She was born November 26, 1930, in Blount County, the daughter of James Ed Woods and Bertha Denney Woods.

Daphine worked many years for J.P. King and Sons, as a Bookkeeper/Accountant, as well as Harold Briceson, of Blountsville, and Attorney Thomas Rountree, of Oneonta. She was a member of Blountsville United Methodist Church, and a member and participant within the Eastern Star Chapter of Blountsville.

Daphine was the mother of three daughters, Teresa (Paul), Karen (Tommy) and Sharon
(John); grandmother to five grandchildren, Daniel (Lori) Pannell, Grey Newman, Olivia Newman, Patrick Peterson and Kyle Peterson, and two great-grand- children, Caitlin and Cameron Pannell; sister Florine Gilchrist and brother John Woods.

She was preceded in death by husband Charles Edward Deerman; grandson:William Dusty Lemley; parents Bertha and Ed Woods; and brothers James Woods, Carlton Woods, and Frank Woods.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Blountsville Funeral Home. The burial will be in Blount Memory Gardens. Blountsville Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at Blountsville Funeral Home.
