Carlton "Pete" Richard Elgin

Carlton "Pete" Richard Elgin, age 95, of Oneonta, passed away on February 24, 2025. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by brother Jim 
Elgin and grandson 
Corey Richards.

He is survived by wife Sudean Elgin; son Pete Elgin; daughter Pam Elgin; grandchildren Chuck Richards (Emily), Casey White (Robert), Daniel Richards (Mandy), Andrew Richards (Jenna), Jessica Richards, and  Ashley Bowers; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren. 

The family received friends on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Lemley Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. A funeral service was held in the chapel beginning at 11 a.m. with Dr. Larry Gipson presiding. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery. 

Asked to serve as pallbearers are Chuck Richards, Daniel Richards, Andrew Richards, Jay McAnnally, Evan Partain, and Phillip Elgin.
