Tommie Faust

Tommie Faust, age 84, of Birmingham, passed away on Jan. 15, 2025.

Tommie was born in Hendrix on July 26, 1940, to Tom and Eula Mae King. After graduating from Susan Moore High School, she attended business school and started her first job at Nash and NeSmith Law Firm.
In 1960, Tommie married Sonny Faust. She became a full-time homemaker raising their three daughters, as well as involving herself in civic and community activities. In 1990, she founded a medical staffing agency in Birmingham with her daughters Amy and Mandy. Tommie continued to work in the family-owned business until she retired in 2015. She has spent time traveling with her children and grandchildren and enjoying time with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Sonny Faust; parents Thomas and Eula Mae Jones King; daughter Amanda “Mandy” Faust; brothers Denton and Marlin King; sisters Velma Griffith and Frances Guyton.
She is survived by her daughters Susan Colwell (Charlie) and Amy Disney-Patterson (John); grandchildren Jack Colwell, Roxanna Vandegraaf (Cameron Sandage), Glenda Vandegraaf, Amanda Disney, Zayanna Patterson, and Austin Patterson; a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025, at Lemley Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. A funeral service followed at Lester Memorial Methodist Church at 2 p.m. with Harvey Beck presiding. Burial concluded in Dailey’s Chapel Cemetery.
