Shooting leaves one dead, one injured

A late Monday afternoon shooting on Hudson Avenue in Oneonta has left one male subject dead and another male subject injured. According to Public Safety Director Brandon Horton, at 5:45 p.m., Oneonta Police Department received a report of gunshots fired at a residence on Hudson Avenue. 
Upon arriving, officers discovered a male subject with gunshot injuries to his lower extremities. They were told another subject was barricaded inside the residence. Once inside the home, officers discovered a male subject deceased of an apparent gunshot wound. 
The release indicated all the victims are adults and the scene remained under investigation late Monday night. According to Horton, updates will be provided as they become available. Horton also stated this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community.
