Fay Nell Moore

Fay Nell Moore age 98, of Blountsville, passed away Tuesday Dec. 31, 2024, at Hanceville Nursing Home. Mrs. Moore was born on April 21, 1926, in Blount County, the daughter of Joe Berry Stephens and Mae Sterling Stephens. She was a life long resident of Blount County and a member of Corinth Baptist Church.  

Survivors include her children: Wanda Dunn, Linda (Perry) Davis, Terry (Donna) Ratliff, Steve (Linda) Moore, and Charlie (Sharon) Moore; host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joe Berry and Mae Sterling Stephens; step mom Cora Chappell Stephens; husband Leonard Ratliff; husband  Wadus E. Moore; daughter Sandra (Richard) Mixon; grandson Adam Moore; son-in-law Wilburn Dunn; siblings Opal (J.T.) Sorrow, Ilene Stephens, and Clifton Cleo Stephens.Her brother Johnny Joe Stephens passed away just hours after Mrs. Moore’s passing. She was also preceded in death by Johnny’s wife, Betty Stephens.

Funeral Service was Saturday Jan. 4, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Blountsville Funeral Home with Randall Edmondson officiating.  Burial was in Austin Creek Cemetery. Visitation was from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday at Blountsville Funeral Home. Pallbearers were: Josh Breazeale, Cory Breazeale, James Rutherford, Joseph Icard, Barry Davis, James Brian Davis, David Wardle, and Mike Dunn.
