Ardis Armstrong Elliott

Ardis Armstrong Elliott, age 84, passed away on Jan. 2, 2025, at her home on Pine Mountain. Ardis was born Feb. 20, 1940, to Arlie Gregory Armstrong and Gertha Horsley Armstrong on Pine Mountain. She was survived by her husband of 61 years, Byron Elliott; her younger sister, Elta Barrett of Niceville, Fla.; her three children, Gloria Elliott Bellew of Oneonta; David Elliott (Tracie) of Birmingham; Laura Elliott Fleming (John) of Homewood; her seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents and two older sisters, Lerlene Orton and Myrna Drella.

Ardis attended Springville High School and worked in banking. She was her church’s treasurer for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was the happiest with a good cup of coffee and a crossword puzzle book.

Pallbearers were David Elliott, Marcus Bellew, John Fleming, Luke Fleming, Gloria Elliott, and Laura Fleming.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pine Mountain Volunteer Fire Department would be appreciated.

Funeral service was held in the chapel at Lemley Funeral Home on Jan. 5, 2025, at 2 p.m. with visitation from 1 until 2 p.m. Rev. Eric Bell and Minister Cam Price presided. Internment followed at Pleasant Mount Church Cemetery on Pine Mountain.
