Roy Cox

Roy Cox, age 75, of Oneonta, passed away on Nov. 26, 2024.

He is preceded in death by parents Sylves- ter and Daffie Vandergriff Cox; wife Velma, brothers Preston Eugene “Gene” Cox, Troy Cox and Donald Ray Cox; niece Donna Lynne McCay; brothers-in-law JD Stephenson and Johnny McAnnally.

He leaves behind his sisters Joyce Stephenson, Joanne McCay (William) and Nancy McAnnally; brothers Mike Cox; sister-in-law Glenda Cox; a host of nieces and nephews.

The family received friends on Friday, Nov. 29, 2024, at Lemley Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.Mr. Cox lay in state at Nectar Methodist Church Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. A funeral service was held at the at the church beginning at 11 a.m. with Gary Freeman presiding. Burial fol- lowed in Nectar Cemetery. Asked to serve as pallbearers were Chris McAnnally, Tyler Gilli- land, Trey Gilliland, Mike Cox, Danny Hayes, Chris Calvert, Derick Coker, Danny Walker, and David Dawson (Honorary).
