LARRY RICHARD PHILLIPS

LARRY RICHARD PHILLIPS, age 84, of Oneonta, passed away on Oct. 17, 2024.

Larry served in the Alabama Army Na- tional Guard for more than 20 years, retiring as a Staff Sargent. He was the former President of the Alabama State Fraternal Order of Po- lice and worked as an Alabama State Trooper, retiring as a Captain.

He is preceded in death by parents Rufus and Lydia Phillips; brothers Harold, Bruce, Steve, and Ken Phillips.

He is survived by wife Vernell Phillips; son Richard M. Phillips; daughter Marla P. Shuttlesworth (Keith); grandchildren Madison and Jaxon; sister Kay Gordon (Bob).

A graveside service was held at Blount Memory Cemetery on Monday, Oct 21, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with Richard Phillips presiding. Burial to conclude.
