WILLIAM JIMMY COPELAND

WILLIAM JIMMY COPELAND, 82 of Rainbow City passed away Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024, at his residence. Jimmy was born Sept. 11, 1941, in Blount County, the son of William Peter “Pete” Copeland and Edna Garren Copeland. He was a graduate of J.B. Pennington High School's class of 1959, and received his bachelor's degree from Auburn University in 1963. He served his country with honor and courage in the US Air Force and retired from Civil Service.

He is survived by a daughter, Renee Copeland Martin; grandsons John Bradley Bard and Christian Rex Bard; brother Benny Copeland; nephews Josh Copeland and Chad Smith. He was preceded in death by son Rex Copeland; grandson Alex Michael Bard; and parents Pete and Edna Copeland.

Funeral Service was 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, at Blountsville Funeral Home. The burial with military honors was in Blountsville Cemetery Blountsville Funeral Home directing.

Visitation was from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Friday at the Blountsville Funeral Home
