MARGARET ELIZABETH CRISWELL

MARGARET ELIZABETH CRISWELL, age 94 of Snead, passed away Sunday, Sept. 2, 2024, at TLC Nursing Center in Oneonta.

While raising five children, she helped her husband with farming and the egg business. She retired after 25 years as cafeteria manager at the Lee Plant in Boaz. She enjoyed traveling, including many foreign countries. But most of all she loved her family and spending time with them. She was a member and attended Bethel Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children - Jimmy Criswell (Nancy), Linda Butler (Mark), Joe Criswell (Debra), and Kim McAllister; daughter-in-law - Lori Criswell; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister Joann Tibbitt; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Criswell is preceded in death by her husband Billie K. Criswell; daughter Eugenia Criswell; son Mike Criswell; parents Loney Virgel and Mary Bethel (Beard) Steeley; siblings Eileen Christopher (Robert), John Steeley (Norma), Betty Hancock (Alfred), Louise Dobbins (Clarence), and Veda Wynn (Floyd).

Bric Latham conducted the funeral service on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church. Interment followed at Bethel Cemetery. The family received friends at Bethel Baptist Church from 11:30 a.m. until funeral time.

Pallbearers were Daniel South, Steven Butler, Jon Criswell, Will Criswell, Bradley Dunn, Zach McCallister, Eddie Priest, and Shannon Tibbitt.

Honorary Pallbearers were Billy Jack Roberts, Mike Holmes, Bill Ashworth, Michael Butler, Mason South, Gavin Harper, and Evan Priest.

In lieu Of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, PO Box 527, Snead, AL 35952, in memory of Mrs. Criswell.
