M.C. Davis

M.C. Davis, 88 of Horton passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024, at his residence. Mr. Davis was born November 22, 1935, in Blount County, the son of Hoyte Davis and Mae Mead Davis. He was married Dec. 29,1954 to Bobbie Jean Mead Davis. He was a steel fabricator and was co-owner of Process Equipment in Birmingham. Mr. Davis was a member of Mt. Hebron Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of almost 70 years: Jean Davis; son: Victor Davis; daughter: Wanna Davis Price and husband, Jerry; sister: Earnestene Gray; great grandchildren: Dylan Self and Dakota Self; grandson-in-law: Teddy Self and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Hoyte Davis and Mae Davis McKleroy; granddaughter: Nichole Price Self; sisters and brother: Imogene Mead, Christine Osborn, Evelyn Ayers, Audry Carlisle and Aubry Davis.

Funeral Service was 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Blountsville Funeral Home with Brother Mark Jones and Brother Eric Stone, officiating. The burial was in Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Blountsville Funeral Home directing. Visitation was from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday at Blountsville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers: Teddy Self, Dylan Self, Larry F. Smith, Jimmy Murphree, Rusty Wood and D.L. Harris.
